Dr. Sathish Babu Parthasarathy is a highly experienced consultant physician specializing in Diabetes, Endocrinology, and General Internal Medicine.
Currently working as a lead clinician in their department at Princess Royal Hospital, University Hospitals Sussex NHS Trust.
With a career spanning over two decades, Dr. Parthasarathy brings a wealth of clinical, academic, and leadership expertise to his field.
After completing his basic medical degree ( MBBS) in India in 2001, he has been working within the National Health Services in the UK till date.
He completed his training in his specialty at Kings College Hospital, London .
He gained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP UK), followed by a specialty MRCP in Endocrinology and Diabetes.
He has dual accreditation both in General Internal Medicine and Diabetes/Endocrinology which serves his passion to provide a holistic approach in dealing with health issues.
He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences from the University of Warwick.

Dr. Parthasarathy has a special interest in bariatric medicine, Type 2 diabetes, and diabetic foot disease. His clinical expertise covers wider common endocrine system related health issues to metabolic derangements such as low sodium levels (Hyponatraemia).
Dr Parthasarathy provides consultation in following areas-
1. Complex endocrine conditions related to those of thyroid, adrenal, parathyroid and pituitary glands.
2. Concerns with weight gain and metabolic health
3. Diabetes and diabetes related issues.
4. Sex hormone dysfunction including Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome ( PCOS).
5.Evaluation of Chronic fatigue and lethargy from Endocrine system perspective
His clinical duties encompass a wide spectrum of care including inpatient services, endocrine and diabetic outpatient clinics, young adult diabetes care, pregnancy-related diabetes management, and specialist obesity services (Tier 4). He also leads the Adult Prader-Willi Syndrome Endocrine Clinic, a unique multidisciplinary service.
Beyond his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Parthasarathy plays a pivotal role in medical education and clinical governance. He serves as a Clinical and Educational Supervisor, OSCE examiner, and assessor for nursing and allied health professional prescribers. As the Diabetes and Endocrine Clinical Incident lead for the East division of University Hospitals Sussex since 2018, He oversees patient safety, clinical incident review, and contributes significantly to audit and quality improvement initiatives. He is also the Diabetes Foot Lead and an active member of both the Inpatient Diabetes Care Committee and the Mortality and Morbidity Review Panel.
Dr. Parthasarathy has contributed to numerous national audits and has presented research at leading conferences including the Royal Society of Medicine and Diabetes UK. His published works span a variety of clinical topics including SIADH, diabetic ketoacidosis, and thyroid carcinoma, Diabetic foot disease.
He has authored various clinical subjects in his field in his areas of interest.
In research, currently he serves as Principal and Sub-Principal Investigator on multiple clinical trials, including the REDUCE and DOMINO-DFU studies focused on diabetic foot ulcer management, and has previously contributed to the RECOVERY trial during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Parthasarathy is a member of multiple prestigious organizations including the Royal College of Physicians, Society for Endocrinology, Association of British Clinical Diabetologists, and the World Obesity Federation.
He loves to cycle around, cooks authentic food recipes (with his twist) and a keen learning DIY technician.
