Mr Philipe Bowles
BMBS, BA(Hons), MCh, FRCS (ORL-HNS)
Consultant ENT Surgeon
Mr Bowles brings a friendly and professional approach to his clinical practice, and holds a substantive ENT Consultant post at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Trust at The Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and at Worthing hospital.
Mr. Bowles graduated from Brighton & Sussex Medical School and completed his specialist Higher Surgical Training at Kent Sussex & Surrey Deanery, including subspecialist training in Paediatric ENT at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children.
His scope of clinical practice covers all areas of Adult and Paediatric Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery. He has a specialist interest in Voice and Airway Disorders including occupational voice users and professional singers as well as complex sinus surgery.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr. Bowles has published over 50 publications in peer review medical and surgical journals, and has presented his research at national and international academic meetings and conferences in Europe and America.
He was awarded a full scholarship for his Masters Degree (MCh) in surgery, for which he obtained a distinction.
He is the ENT Clinical Educational Lead at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Trust, overseeing the training and clinical development of the junior ENT surgical team.

Mr Prodip Das
MBBS, MEd., BSc. (Hons.), FRCS (ORL-HNS)
Consultant ENT Surgeon/Training Programme Director KSS
Mr Das trained at Guys & St Thomas' Hospital, London. He undertook specialist ENT training in South East Thames and notably worked at Brighton and Sussex NHS Trust, Guy's & St Thomas Hospital, London, Great Ormond Street, London and Kings College, London.
He undertook a one year fellowship at The University of Toronto, Canada in Advanced Otology/Skull Base Surgery and Paediatric ENT.
Mr Das completed a Masters in Surgical Education at Imperial College, London and has an interest in specialisation selection and undergraduate teaching.
He is the Lead Paediatric ENT Surgeon at Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital dealing with all aspects of children’s ENT conditions - including giving a specialist opinion to colleagues from other units within the South East.
He often liaises with paediatric colleagues from Evelina Children’s Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Southampton Children’s Hospital to help repatriate children for ongoing care locally.
He has a passion for Education and teaching the next generation of ENT Doctors. He is the Training Programme Director for all Higher Surgical ENT Training is Sussex and this programme has been identified to be the Best Overall Training Programme for ENT in the UK for the past 3 years through the annual General Medical Council Training Survey.
Since appointed to Brighton and Sussex NHS Trust he has introduced Laser Assisted Otological Surgery to the Trust for operations to remove chronic ear infections and hearing reconstruction.
